What you need to do is as follows:

  • When you get to the search screen, enter “Settings” and hit the Enter key.
  • Navigate to Windows Update inside the Settings menu.
  • Go to the Settings menu and choose the “Advanced” tab.
  • The option to “Receive updates to other Microsoft products” should be activated.
  • Once you enable this feature, Windows will routinely seek for updates to Microsoft Office on your behalf. As with all Windows updates, it will be automatically installed. In the Windows Update settings, choose Check for updates to see whether an updated version of Office 365 is available.

Option 2: Have Office 365 programs update automatically

Every Office 365 app has to be set to update automatically. It’s enabled by default, but it never hurts to be sure. Launch any Office 365 app to see whether automatic updates are turned on. For the sake of argument, let’s use Microsoft Word.

To access your account in that app, choose it from the left-hand menu and then hit the More icon. A statement to the effect that “Updates are automatically downloaded and installed” may be seen in the Office Updates section.

The absence of this option indicates that automatic updates are disabled. If you want to enable updates, go to Settings > Update Options > Enable Updates.

  • Third Option: Perform Excel Updates by Hand

  • You may manually update PowerPoint just as you did with Excel and Word.
